Milborne St Andrew, South Dorset

We have a very busy day in line, this weekend.

It is very exciting and very daunting – 4 maiden’s run:

Ask Launa Esme is having her first run; she is a lovely filly and has been working really well, she schools well and loves her job. This is the beginning of her racing career that I’m sure will be a long and successful one.

Gorcombe’s Rascal will be flying the flag for the Meaden’s, at their local point to point, so hopefully he will run well. He has come on from his earlier runs and is a really exciting prospect, he has grown up and is ready to run up to his best.

Tomaisin A Ri is having his first ever run. I’m not sure how he will handle the day. He is no doubt a talented horse and I’m quite sure he has a bright future, but he is a nervous horse and I am aware we must start off his career correctly. My aim always with maiden’s is for them to come home not being worried about the day but thinking “that was great fun and I want to do it again”.

Wookey Hole is down to Emma Oliver, but has been with me for a week, because Emma’s circumstances have changed his owner sent him to me. I am very happy to have him, he held this entry and his owner is looking forward to his first run. He has had intensive schooling all week and is showing a good aptitude to jumping. He worked very well on Friday and I think he is also an exciting prospect and a lovely horse to have around.

Jaboltiski will run in the Men’s Open, he has had a little break since his last run, waiting for better ground and sunshine!!! Not sure he will get the later on Sunday! He is very well and has been working hard.

As always, please come to the lorry for a snack or drink and to meet the horses. It will be a bit hectic this week but you will be very welcome and it would be great to see you all.
Good luck to all the horses, jockeys and owners have a good day.

Best wishes
